The Salernitano Horse The origin of the Salernitano Horse dates back to the settlements of Greek horses in southern Italy after the founding of Paestum, later crossed both with Carthaginian and Etruscan horses and with oriental horses, due to the Saracen invasions and trade exchanges promoted by Amalfi merchants.
