Ferndinando has created the Sammezzano Castle, an extraordinary villa, made up of 65 rooms, 15 of which richly decorated on the first floor made the building famous throughout the world.
The Castle of Sammezzano is also located in a 160-hectare park, which is home to many extraordinary species of trees and exotic plants and the highest number of giant sequoias in Italy, as many as 57!
After the Second World War, the Sammezzano Castle became a luxury hotel but for over 25 years there is no longer any activity inside it and the site is in a substantial state of neglect, with many unanswered questions about the property. This led to a slow and progressive deterioration.
In fact, over the years, the openings and the roof have been damaged which, not having been repaired, have caused water infiltration, damaging the structure of the castle and especially its most fragile components, such as plaster, plaster decorations, stained glass, ornamental paintings and tiles ceramics.
