The Horse in Toys is certainly not an art, but it is enough to see the video, made with the collaboration of the Toy Horse Museum, which we thank, to understand that Horse in Toys can be considered an Art in all respects.
Just think of the rides and the carousels with the magnificent hand-carved gourds and dotted with gems and tails in the wind, dragged by the ebullient orgasm of cheerful and lively music.
The first example of carousels dates back to the sixteenth century, while in the 18th century crankshafts were born of the first wooden horses alternating with a few chairs.

The carousel originated in Europe but reached the highest levels in America. The golden age of the horse carriage lasted for about 20 years: from 1905 to 1925 but the economic collapse of 1929 forced several runners to leave business and many of the most creative carvers are considered real artists and it seems that dives of Hollywood kept wooden horses in the bedroom like hanging clothes.
The horse in toys of the past centuries is carved and richly lined with wood and papier-pasta, lined with tin and sometimes enriched by mechanisms, or it will be a poor horse, and unlike what happens today, two pieces of crossed wood did of the youngest a great knight.
In the 18th century a new fervor was born with the awareness of the educational engagement towards children opening a season that seeks the best craftsmen to carve and build carts and horses of all kinds to be brought to the nobles of Europe or markets and village festivals. So fantasy toys, sweet and strong horses come true: true works of art.
On the horse market in toys, Italy is lagging behind the rest of Europe and it is only at the end of the nineteenth that the first specimens of horses appeared, which were the children’s favorite toys until World War II.
Now is the time to see some of the best pieces hosted at the Toy Horse Museum in the video below. Good vision.
