Your horse painted in the plate?
As horse lovers, of all horses, we asked ourselves a question: how can I have my beloved horse at home, have his image always before my eyes?
The answer was: it would be great to have my horse painted in a plate but only if the plate is in a precious material, precious like my horse and majolica is very, very precious.
So we asked our artist, very good at painting horses, one of the most difficult subjects to draw, and creating magnificent majolica objects, to do it for our friends at Club Cavallo Italia and she immediately accepted with enthusiasm but immediately told us that to make a perfect majolica plate need a long, delicate and difficult job that starts with the photograph of your horse and, therefore, each plate is unique in the world and very different from the cold mass production of other decorations.
To better understand the high craft value of each piece, here’s how the majolica plate with the image and the name of your horse is born.
We start with the red biscuit (a plate shaped in clay and baked for the first time at low temperature) and we proceed with the glazing of the plate by immersing it in a mixture of stanniferous enamel and water of adequate density, and then it is left to dry.
Meanwhile, dusting is carried out: a perforated design on light paper, which is then used to transfer the design onto the surface of the plate, using a bag of charcoal powder that is delicately beaten on the surface, obtaining a very slight dotted trace.
Now the real decoration part begins.
Using powdered colors diluted in water, the over-glaze is executed (and therefore not erasable, since the color is absorbed by the porous enamel), through the wise mixing and overlapping of the various shades, so that the final result is as similar to the photo of the your horse.
Once the colored drawing is finished, the plate is covered with a layer of crystalline: a transparent glass coating that enhances the colors, spraying a particular mixture of fluxes, made with a specific professional instrument.
At this point the plate is introduced into the appropriate oven, where it will be subjected to the second firing at 950 ° C: the entire cooking and cooling cycle lasts about 15 hours.
Each of these steps represents a very delicate moment of processing and is performed manually by the expert hands of our artist.
Since this is a hand-made plate, there may be slight differences in the surface and colors: these are not imperfections but inherent characteristics of hand-made majolica, which emerge after cooking is completed.
And here is the finished plate with the image and the name of your horse, on the back you will find the writing that confirms that it is a product strictly Made in Italy and, if you want, a possible dedication.
Now that you know how the plate will be made with the image and the name of your horse and how precious it is you just have to order it here and it will come to you comfortably at home, protected from shock that could damage it and without shipping costs.
